"How incomplete has been my golfing education until I had seen it," were the words of famous amateur golfer Bernard Darwin after he had played Welshpool for the very first time.
Welshpool was the brainchild of the legendary and prolific golf course architect James Braid, winner of five Open Championships. Stutt even claimed that Welshpool offered more spectacular shots than that of Braid's most famous course, Gleneagles, and that claim should be reason enough to make the trip.
