The premier golf resort in Wales has three courses - all with very different challenges. The par-72 Wentwood Hills course is home of the Welsh Open and will also stage the 2010 Ryder Cup, though it is being adapted to create a purpose-built venue. The current course was carved out of the slopes overlooking the Usk valley by Robert Trent Jones Jnr and is an extremely tough test of golf. The other two courses were both designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr. The Roman Road has a par of 69 and is a pleasant layout and, if you enjoy something completely different, then make sure you play Coldra Woods. |
